Birth, Marriage & Divorce Certificate Translation
Family papers travel with their owners more than any other documents: a baby born in a Khobar hospital to parents from another country, a couple married in Bahrain and living in Dammam, a family preparing to bring relatives over on a visit visa. Each of these needs a birth certificate translation or marriage certificate translation that is certified and has no room for a wrong name or date. At Almadani Translation’s Al Khobar branch we translate civil status documents as stamped, signed certified translations, and a second translator checks every name and date against the original.

When Eastern Province families need this translation
Registering and adding newborns
A Saudi-issued birth certificate often needs translating to register the child with the parents’ embassy or consulate or to obtain a passport. A foreign birth certificate may be needed in Arabic when the child is added to a resident parent’s file.
Family visit visas and residence
Bringing a spouse or children over usually requires proof of the relationship: the marriage certificate and the children’s birth certificates, translated into Arabic if they were issued in another language. Requirements vary with visa type and authority, so check them before you apply.
Families on both sides of the causeway
Many families in Khobar and Dammam have ties in Bahrain, and their marriage or birth documents may have been issued there. We translate Arabic documents into English when a foreign authority asks, and foreign documents into Arabic when a Saudi authority asks.
Immigration and family reunion abroad
Immigration files for Canada, the UK or Australia require full translations of family documents, with names that match the passports exactly. See also embassy and visa file translation.
Courts and estates
Personal status and inheritance matters before the Personal Status Court in Dammam, or before authorities abroad, sometimes need translations of divorce deeds, heirship deeds and death certificates.
Civil status documents we translate
- Saudi and foreign birth certificates, including hospital birth notifications
- Marriage contracts, marriage confirmation deeds and foreign civil marriage certificates
- Divorce and khula deeds and foreign divorce certificates
- Family record (family register) and member details
- Death certificates and heirship deeds
- Name change and nationality certificates
- No-objection-to-marriage and marital status certificates
Names and dates: where errors happen
Family documents put several people on one page: the child and both parents, or the spouses, witnesses and guardian. Each name must be spelled as in that person’s passport, because the receiving authority will compare them. That is why we ask for passport copies of the people named, where available.
| Item | What we watch |
|---|---|
| Full four-part names | Spelling matched to the passport, name order kept as in the original |
| Hijri and Gregorian dates | Copied as written; we do not convert Hijri dates on our own |
| Place of birth | City and hospital name as in the original |
| Dowry and conditions in a marriage contract | Translated in full, never summarised |
| Stamps and attestations | Every stamp, attestation and verification code noted |
Attestation before or after translation
Some authorities want the original attested in the issuing country, or by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, before or after translation. These steps are set by the receiving authority, and we translate the document together with any attestation stamps on it. Ask the authority which order it needs before you send it to us, so you do not have to translate twice.
Turnaround and cost
A birth certificate or a short marriage contract is usually delivered the same day or at the time confirmed with your quote. If your appointment is close, ask for urgent translation at an extra fee. Cost is quoted on request once we have seen the document.

FAQ
Can you translate a handwritten birth certificate?
Yes, as long as the image is clear and legible. If a word cannot be read, we contact you before delivery instead of guessing.
My marriage contract was issued in Bahrain in Arabic and the embassy wants it in English. Can you help?
Yes. We translate it into English and note every stamp and attestation on it.
Do you convert Hijri dates to Gregorian in the translation?
We copy dates as written in the original. If the authority wants both, tell us before we start.
Do I have to bring the original to the branch?
Not for the translation, since a clear image is enough. The receiving authority may still ask to see the original alongside the translation.
